Water Heater Thermostats

The Camco thermostats below are universal replacements. ECO stands for emergency cut off, usually referred to as reset button.

Duel element water heaters have an upper (pirmary) thermostat and a lower (secondary)thermostat.

Single element water heaters have one thermostat located near the bottom of the tank. Duel element thermostat will not work on a single element tank. Single element water heaters are common in mobile homes.

If you are interested in a universal upper thermostat, pay attention to the length. If you have a longer thermostat and purchase a short one the wires may not reach.

You can read more about water heater thermostats here.

Water Heater Elements

You will need to know the voltage and wattage of your elements. There should be a label on top or side of your water heater. It will also be imprinted on the end of your old element.

Some elements below are listed as foldback elements. These are low watt density, meaning that they use the same wattage as a standred element but it is spread out over a larger area. Therefore, they do not get as hot which helps to cut down on seditment build up in the tank. These are recommend if you have hard water.

Low watt density elements will heat the same amount of water in the same time period as a standard element.

Camco Co. makes electric water heater parts to fit most water heaters.
